5 most important movements in Indian freedom struggles
In its 74th Independent year, India is free of all the rules. Standing proud and saluting all the freedom fighters that helped India get back its land and give people its freedom back to them. Freedom fighters like Subhash Chandra Bose, Mahatma Gandhi, Sardarvallbhai Patel, Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad and many more that gave up everything to fight against the British to get the freedom back.

1) Non- Cooperation Movement (1920-1922)-
This was one of the biggest and important movements in the freedom struggle. The reason behind this particular movement was the inhuman behaviour done by the British government in Jallianwala Baugh Massacre which shook people and made them enraged towards the British. This movement gave birth to slogans of Swaraj, people boycotted British titles and embellishments. Since there was a lot of chaos that went through during the movement, Mahatma Gandhi had to call off the movement. Inspite that, this was one of the important movements as the British realised how much rage the people have against them.
2) Dandi March (1930)-
This movement was one of Mahatma Gandhi’s important movement as it is one of his clear example of non violent movements. In this particular movement, people did not follow certain regulations imposed by the British government.
3) Khalifa Movement (1919-1924)-
The Muslims in India were filled with rage at the British government because of the way they treated the Turkish. It was a communal movement in defence of the Turkish empire. This particular movement merged with the non cooperation movement and this led to the Government imprisoning Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru.
4) Home Rule Movement (1916)-
The main aim of this movement was to achieve self government in the British empire through the means of Constitution. That means it aimed at the establishment of the council, the council will the elected by the Indian.
5) Quit India Movement (1942)-
The Quit India Movement also known as the August Movement, was a movement launched at the Bombay session of the All- India Congress committee by Mahatma Gandhi on 9th August 1942, during World War II demanding an end to British rule in India.
